The author concludes that this figure corresponds to an in personam right of compensation, which corresponds to society and upon which the state acts as plaintiff. The paper answers objections that have been put forth ag ainst this legal institution in Mexico.Se analiza el reciente proceso mexicano para establecer la extinción de dominio como instrumento jurídico para el combate al crimen organizado.
