“Aquí estamos de regreso”: paramilitares y representación del enemigo en el discurso musical de los corridos prohibidos

dc.description.abstractEste artículo evidencia las distintas representaciones del enemigo construidas en los corridos prohibidos que versan sobre el paramilitarismo en Colombia. El dispositivo musical al ser atemporal tiene la capacidad de reproducir en cualquier momento las historias, hechos y protagonistas de sus letras, con lo cual se ponen en circulación mensajes que inciden en la construcción de representaciones que legitiman, en este caso, la existencia de los paramilitares. La metodología del estudio fue cualitativa; se realizó una aproximación hermenéutica desde el análisis del discurso para analizar las letras de 40 canciones en términos de macroestructuras, estratagemas y figuras retóricas. Dentro de los principales hallazgos se encontró que los versos de las canciones tienen una correspondencia con la línea editorial de legítima defensa que caracterizó el discurso de los comandantes paramilitares ante la opinión pública. Desde el mito del héroe, los paramilitares se auto erigieron como salvadores cuya existencia y valor se prueba cuando se combate al adversario. Los corridos prohibidos construyeron discursos emocionales amparados en la animalización del otro o en la metáfora de la “limpieza social”, para calificar negativamente las acciones de la insurgencia, mientras invisibilizan la violencia ejercida por los paramilitares. Las reflexiones finales llaman la atención sobre las implicaciones que han tenido los dispositivos de la industria cultural, como los corridos prohibidos, para amplificar una representación de actores buenos (paramilitares) y actores malos (grupos guerrilleros), mientras infantiliza al pueblo y naturaliza el uso de la violencia.
dc.description.abstractengThis article evidences the different representations of the enemy constructed in the corridos prohibidos that deal with paramilitarism in Colombia. The musical device, being timeless, has the capacity to reproduce at any time the stories, facts and protagonists of its lyrics, thus putting into circulation messages that influence the construction of representations that legitimize, in this case, the existence of paramilitaries. The methodology of the study was qualitative; a hermeneutic approach from discourse analysis was used to analyze the lyrics of 40 songs in terms of macrostructures, stratagems and rhetorical figures. Among the main findings, it was found that the verses of the songs have a correspondence with the editorial line of legitimate defense that characterized the discourse of the paramilitary commanders before public opinion. From the myth of the hero, the paramilitaries set themselves up as saviors whose existence and courage is proven when fighting the adversary. The corridos prohibidos constructed emotional discourses based on the animalization of the other or on the metaphor of "social cleansing", to negatively qualify the actions of the insurgency, while making invisible the violence exercised by the paramilitaries. The final reflections call attention to the implications of cultural industry devices, such as corridos prohibidos, to amplify a representation of good actors (paramilitaries) and bad actors (guerrilla groups), while infantilizing the people and naturalizing the use of violence.
