dc.description.abstracteng | This article investigates the social representation of the enemy constructed by the FARC-EP between 1964 and 2019. Following Moscovici's theory of “social representation” and based on fifteen semi-structured interviews with ex-combatants of the FARC-EP, including a body of the organisation’s internal documents, three spheres of influence are identified from which social representations were formed. I detected five different contents of these social representations: the class enemy, the soldier, the paramilitary, the infiltrated enemy and the deserters. The main finding is that the social representation of the enemy does not respond to the established national and international literature on the subject: it is highly ideologised and represents low levels of emotionality, with the exception of the paramilitary enemy. This study, apart from being an academic contribution, helps understanding the complexity of the reincorporation process in Colombia.
