dc.description.abstract	Este estudio cualitativo con diseño fenomenológico se propuso comprender las experiencias de seis parejas sobre la muerte fetal durante el tercer trimestre de gestación en la ciudad de Cali, Colombia. Para ello se aplicó una entrevista semiestructurada a las parejas, indagando información sociodemográfica de las parejas y aspectos propios del fenómeno de estudio. Por medio de un análisis temático se encontró que, la experiencia de pérdida del bebé en las parejas entrevistadas les trajo un conjunto de transformaciones individuales y relacionales; incidió en sus pensamientos y emociones. Las parejas que construyeron dinámicas de ritualización frente a la pérdida parecieron mostrar mejoría en la forma en cómo abordaron el duelo, al elaborar allí acciones que simbolizaron la muerte de su hijo; significaron la pérdida de su hijo como un hecho irreal, un recurso de afrontamiento para la vida, una conexión de pareja, un suceso irreparable y un temor a la gravidez. Se presentaron transformaciones en la relación de pareja tanto en términos afectivos - estrechamiento en el vínculo afectivo, mejores procesos dialógicos y de demostración de amor-, como conductuales - más compartir en su rutinas diarias y manejo de problemas de la vida juntos-. Así mismo, se observó la insatisfacción de las parejas entrevistadas frente a la atención de los profesionales de salud, antes, durante y después de la pérdida de su hijo. Se concluyó que la muerte fetal durante el tercer trimestre de gestación en las parejas entrevistadas trae consigo cambios en su relación. Finalmente, se brindaron recomendaciones para la práctica, instituciones e investigaciones futuras en el tema.
dc.description.abstracteng	This qualitative study with a phenomenological design aimed to understand the experiences of six couples about fetal death during the third trimester of gestation in the city of Cali, Colombia. For this purpose, a semi-structured interview was applied to the couples, inquiring about sociodemographic information of the couples and aspects of the phenomenon under study. By means of a thematic analysis, it was found that the experience of the loss of the baby in the couples interviewed brought about a series of individual and relational transformations; it affected their thoughts and emotions. The couples who constructed ritualization dynamics in the face of the loss seemed to show improvement in the way they dealt with grief, when they elaborated actions that symbolized the death of their child; they signified the loss of their child as an unreal fact, a coping resource for life, a couple connection, an irreparable event and a fear of pregnancy. There were transformations in the couple's relationship both in affective terms - closer bonding, better dialogic processes and demonstration of love - and in behavioral terms - more sharing in their daily routines and management of life problems together. Likewise, the dissatisfaction of the couples interviewed with the care provided by health professionals before, during and after the loss of their child was observed. It was concluded that fetal death during the third trimester of gestation in the couples interviewed brings about changes in their relationship. Finally, recommendations for practice, institutions and future research on the subject were provided.
