Abstract
El presente trabajo tiene por objeto brindar un análisis corto sobre las funciones consulares y la forma en que a los nacionales de un Estado se les garantiza tanto los derechos humanos como la dignidad humana cuando estos se encuentran en situaciones que requieren protección por parte de su gobierno, llevándolo hacia un enfoque más específico respecto a la situación que a día de hoy se vive en Colombia con el aumento de migrantes venezolanos en este territorio nacional, teniendo en cuenta que la relación diplomática entre estas dos naciones terminó de forma abrupta por parte del Estado venezolano y que de esta forma ha dejado prácticamente solos a sus nacionales, teniendo que ser Colombia quien brinde ayudas y garantías para estos y de la misma forma tener un control regularizando a quienes hayan ingresado al país de forma irregular y otorgando beneficios para también poder tener un conteo de una cantidad aproximada de quienes se encuentran en el territorio tanto de forma regular como irregular.

The purpose of this paper is to provide a short analysis of consular functions and the way in which nationals of a State are guaranteed both human rights and human dignity when they are in situations that require protection by their government, taking it towards a more specific approach regarding the situation that currently exists in Colombia with the increase of Venezuelan migrants in this national territory, taking into account that the diplomatic relationship between these two nations ended abruptly by the Venezuelan State and that in this way it has practically left its nationals alone, having to be Colombia who provides aid and guarantees for them and in the same way have a control regulating those who have entered the country irregularly and granting benefits to also be able to have a counting an approximate number of those who are in the territory both regularly and irregular.
