Abstract
Esta investigación y el producto audiovisual (https://youtu.be/OSTeTG5aTK0), bajo la técnica del found footage, en su montaje, lleva a cabo un recorrido histórico con respecto a la llegada e incorporación en las rutinas sociales del teléfono móvil en la ciudad de Cali, Colombia. Asimismo, se hace hincapié en las formas en las que el celular transformó la vida cotidiana, al igual que las formas de comunicación. En un principio, el teléfono móvil tenía estatus de novedad y solo una pequeña élite podía tener acceso. Sin embargo, con el crecimiento del mercado, la compra de estos dispositivos fue cada vez más popular. Una vez superada esta brecha y otras, en materia tecnológica, no existió diferencia respecto a los usos que se le dan al dispositivo en comparación con las tendencias globales. Entretenimiento, comunicación instantánea y otras funciones, ligadas al ocio, parecen ser los usos predilectos. En el caso de los perfiles y trayectorias de los entrevistados se muestran particularidades que enriquecen la mirada histórica propuesta.

This research and its audiovisual piece, that makes use of the found footage technique, executes an historical journey in regard to the arrival of the mobile phone and its taming into the social routines of the people of Cali, Colombia. Furthermore, it emphasizes the ways that the cellphone transformed everyday life, as well as it pushes the limits of instant communication. In the beginning of this process, the cellphone had a ‘novelty status’ and was only available to a very small elite. However, as the market grew, the chance of buying these devices was more democratic. Once the access gap was overcomed, in a technological standpoint, there was no difference between the uses that people from developing countries make of these devices, in comparison with the global trends. Entertainment, instant communication and other functionalities linked with leisure, seem to be the ones at the top. When it comes to the profiles of the interviewees, there are particularities that enrich the historical perspective that is proposed.
