dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio busca describir la presencia de estereotipos de género en la violencia de pareja hacia tres hombres jóvenes de la ciudad de Cali. Se entiende por violencia todo acto físico o psicológico que busque alterar el bienestar de una persona. Asimismo, los estereotipos se entienden como unos esquemas cognitivos que reflejan la tendencia de una sociedad a pensar que cierto grupo de personas deben compartir características similares. El presente estudio se llevó a cabo mediante una investigación cualitativa con un diseño narrativo, haciendo uso de una entrevista semiestructurada y la técnica interactiva de Fotolenguaje. Los resultados revelaron que todos los participantes experimentaron vivencias de violencia psicológica y física, las cuales solían estar acompañadas de culpabilización propia y de parte de su pareja. En cuanto a los estereotipos, se encontró que los participantes exhibían estereotipos individuales influenciados por creencias culturales y de género. Se identificó una categoría emergente denominada dependencia emocional, en la cual los participantes se mantenían en la relación de pareja por miedo al abandono, lo que los llevaba a subordinarse y someterse constantemente a su pareja, priorizando el bienestar y las decisiones de esta por encima de los propios.
dc.description.abstractengThe present study aims to describe the presence of gender stereotypes in intimate partner violence towards three young men in the city of Cali. Violence is understood as any physical or psychological act that seeks to disrupt a person's well-being. Similarly, stereotypes are understood as cognitive schemas that reflect a society's tendency to think that a certain group of people should share similar characteristics. This study was conducted through qualitative research with a narrative design, using a semi-structured interview and the interactive Photolanguage technique. The results revealed that all participants experienced psychological and physical violence, which was often accompanied by self-blame and blame from their partner. Regarding stereotypes, it was found that the participants exhibited individual stereotypes influenced by cultural and gender beliefs. An emerging category called emotional dependency was identified, in which the participants remained in the relationship out of fear of abandonment, leading them to constantly subordinate and submit to their partner, prioritizing their partner's well-being and decisions over their own.
