dc.description.abstractEl proyecto tiene como objetivo diseñar y desarrollar un prototipo de balón hidrostático económico y funcional para el control de hemorragias postparto, con el fin de reducir la intervención constante del personal de salud y facilitar su acceso en hospitales de Colombia. Este dispositivo, orientado a cuantificar el sangrado de manera precisa, busca ofrecer una solución innovadora para abordar una de las principales causas de mortalidad materna en el país. El desarrollo del prototipo se llevará a cabo en tres fases: recopilación de información técnica y médica, diseño y materiales, y la prueba de su funcionalidad en entornos simulados. Aunque no está destinado para ser escalado comercialmente, el prototipo permitirá evaluar su potencial para mejorar la calidad de la atención obstétrica en los hospitales de Colombia.spa
dc.description.abstractThe project aims to design and develop a prototype of an economical and functional hydrostatic balloon for postpartum hemorrhage control, in order to reduce the constant intervention of healthcare personnel and facilitate its accessibility in hospitals in Colombia. This device, designed to accurately quantify bleeding, seeks to offer an innovative solution to address one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in the country. The development of the prototype will be carried out in three phases: collection of technical and medical information, design and materials, and testing its functionality in simulated environments. Although it is not intended for commercial scaling, the prototype will allow for the evaluation of its potential to improve the quality of obstetric care in Colombian hospitals.eng
