Experiencia de lactancia y el apoyo social percibido en madres privadas de libertad

Abstract
El 6.9% de la población carcelaria en Colombia son mujeres cuyas necesidades no son atendidas, más aún en aquellas que son madres y conviven con sus hijos en los establecimientos penitenciarios durante los primeros tres años de edad, razón por la cual, surge la necesidad de analizar programas que acompañen la maternidad de mujeres privadas de la libertad (MPL). El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar la experiencia de apoyo social percibido en el periodo de lactancia por madres privadas de la libertad, que hacen uso de las Salas Amigas de la Familia Lactante (SAFL) implementadas por el Instituto Nacional Penitenciaria y Carcelario (INPEC). Mediante un estudio cualitativo de tipo fenomenológico, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas y mapas de redes realizados a diez madres que han hecho uso de las SAFL, se encontró que todas las participantes cuentan con redes de apoyo estructuradas y funcionales que brindan apoyo sea instrumental, emocional y/o informacional durante la experiencia de lactancia. En relación con las SAFL, se encontró que son percibidas por las madres como apoyo siempre y cuando cumplan con los lineamientos y objetivos planteados por dicho programa. En conclusión, las SAFL es un programa que contribuye al bienestar de las MPL y sus hijos, el cual es necesario replicar en otros establecimientos penitenciarios. Para futuros estudios se recomienda investigar el apoyo social desde la perspectiva de otros actores implicados, evaluar el impacto de las SAFL a través del tiempo y seguir indagando alrededor de las necesidades de las MPL.

This situation creates the need to analyze programs that support the motherhood of women deprived of liberty (WDL). The objective of the research was to analyze the experience of perceived social support during the breastfeeding period by mothers deprived of liberty, who use the Lactating Family Friendly Rooms (SAFL) implemented by the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC). Through a qualitative phenomenological study, using semi-structured interviews and network maps conducted with ten mothers who have used the SAFL, it was found that all participants have structured and functional support networks that provide instrumental, emotional, and/or informational support during the breastfeeding experience. Regarding the SAFL, it was found that they are perceived by the mothers as supportive, as long as they meet the guidelines and objectives set by the program. In conclusion, the SAFL is a program that contributes to the well-being of WDL and their children, which needs to be replicated in other penitentiary establishments. For future studies, it is recommended to investigate social support from the perspective of other involved actors, evaluate the impact of the SAFL over time, and continue exploring the needs of WDL.
