Abstract
The systematization of the family counseling experience with families in vulnerable situations and unaccompanied migrant children was carried out with families residing in Tona, Santander, and Oporapa, Huila. For the development of the research process, two axes were defined: dimensions of vulnerability and unaccompanied migrant children. Based on these, the research objectives were formulated, aimed at identifying the situations of vulnerability experienced by families and unaccompanied migration as a social problem that significantly affects children and fractures family environments. Cultural transformations experienced by families due to unaccompanied migration and the multiple situations of vulnerability that have arisen were identified, causing family ruptures and decisions that have had consequences for the emotional well-being of each member. Among other significant findings, each of the families was recognized as resilient, overcoming the traumas generated by unaccompanied migration, cultural shocks, and the various situations of vulnerability in the political and social dimensions, generating new support networks, and strengthening the family structure. Finally, a lesson learned is related to the dialogue that generated interaction among each participating family, valuing teamwork and family unity.
