dc.descriptionSoft tissue sarcomas represent a clinical and histopathological diagnostic challenge given the low incidence and high variability in clinical presentation, which often makes them unsuspected from the first consultation. A subtype that affects the skin is the idiopathic head and neck angiosarcoma, it represents less than 1% of all soft tissue sarcomas and is characterized by its aggressive biological behavior and early metastatic tendency, features that attribute an ominous prognosis to it. We report the case of a 64-year-old patient with a rapidly growing infiltrating tumor on forehead left side that initially exhibited the morphology of cutaneous lymphoma but with immunophenotyping studies, the diagnosis of cutaneous angiosarcoma was reached.en-US
dc.descriptionLos sarcomas de tejidos blandos representan un reto diagnóstico clínico e histopatológico dada la baja incidencia y alta variabilidad en la presentación clínica, lo que a menudo, los hace insospechados desde la primera consulta. Un subtipo que afecta la piel es el angiosarcoma idiopático de la cabeza y el cuello; representa cerca del 2% de todos los sarcomas de tejidos blandos el cual está caracterizado por un comportamiento biológico agresivo y tendencia temprana a la metástasis, propiedades1 que le atribuyen un pronóstico ominoso. Se comunica el caso de una paciente de 64 años con tumor infiltrante y de rápido crecimiento en hemifrente izquierda que al inició exhibió morfología de linfoma cutáneo, pero con estudios de inmunofenotipificación se llegó al diagnóstico de angiosarcoma cutáneo.es-ES
