Abstract
The thesis titled "Identification of Essential Criteria for the Comprehensive Evaluation of Health Service Design in the Expansion Process of the Clinica Rey David " has as its main objective to define the fundamental criteria for the strategic planning of new services at the Clinic, ensuring their sustainability, accessibility, and alignment with the needs of the population. The context of the applied research is situated in the expansion process of the Clinica Rey David, located in Cali, Colombia, which seeks to optimize its infrastructure and expand its health service offerings in response to community needs and sector trends. To achieve this, an analysis is required to ensure the viability of the new services and their compliance with the current regulations in the country. The methodology used in this study follows a mixed methods approach combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. The implemented strategies include a systematic literature review, analysis of health regulations and policies user surveys, demographic and epidemiological studies, competition assessment, and review of official databases, such as the Special Registry of Health Service Providers (REPS) and the Individual Service Provision Registries (RIPS). One of the main contributions of this study is the development of an evaluation model based on criteria such as quality, accessibility, unmet demand, demand vs opportunity, market trends, and financial sustainability. These criteria were integrated into an analysis instrument (web application) that will serve as a guide for strategic decision making within the clinic.
