dc.description.abstractEn el presente trabajo de investigación se procede a examinar la implementación del modelo de mediación escolar promovido por la Secretaría de Educación Departamental del Valle del Cauca para la resolución de conflictos como estrategia pedagógica de educación para la paz en la Institución Educativa Las Américas del municipio de Florida Valle, una meta que se pretende desarrollar en tres momentos específicos, uno de caracterización general de la IEO; otro de análisis de implementación del modelo tanto a nivel departamental como institucional y por ultimo una descripción de principios orientadores para el fortalecimiento del modelo en la institución educativa. Permitiendo así identificar fortalezas y oportunidades de mejora en el proceso de implementación a nivel institucional que aporta al mejoramiento de la convivencia escolar, como se fortalecen las habilidades sociales y emocionales de los estudiantes mediadores y como a través del proceso se puede promover una cultura de paz en las instituciones educativas a través de la implementación de procesos de justicia restaurativa. Para el desarrollo de la presente investigación se trabajó sobre el paradigma cualitativo a través del método de análisis documental, con el cual se pudo examinar y evaluar documentos relevantes para el tema de estudio de la implementación del modelo de mediación escolar en la IEO Las Américas, esto con el fin de extraer información que pudiera ser significativa, identificar patrones, tendencias o relaciones, y construir conocimiento nuevo o validar teorías preexistentes. Este proceso se llevó a cabo a través de una serie de pasos estructurados que permitieron obtener conclusiones sobre la implementación desarrollada y el análisis de categorías emergentes.
dc.description.abstractengIn the present research work, the implementation of the school mediation model promoted by the Departmental Education Secretariat of Valle del Cauca for conflict resolution is examined as a pedagogical strategy for peace education at the Las Américas Educational Institution in the municipality of Florida Valle. This goal is intended to be developed in three specific stages: a general characterization of the IEO; an analysis of the implementation of the model at both departmental and institutional levels; and finally, a description of guiding principles for strengthening the model in the educational institution. This allows us to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in the implementation process at an institutional level that contributes to improving school coexistence, how the social and emotional skills of student mediators are strengthened and how, through the process, a culture of peace can be promoted in educational institutions through the implementation of restorative justice processes. For the development of this research, a qualitative paradigm was employed using the document analysis method. This approach allowed for the examination and evaluation of relevant documents related to the implementation of the school mediation model at the IEO Las Américas. The objective was to extract significant information, identify patterns, trends, or relationships, and either construct new knowledge or validate existing theories. This process was carried out through a series of structured steps that enabled the researchers to draw conclusions about the implemented model and analyze emerging categories.
