dc.description.abstractLa calidad en los laboratorios clínicos es crucial desde la solicitud del examen, hasta la entrega de los resultados. Los errores que se presentan en el proceso, constituyen la problemática de esta investigación, cuyo objetivo es identificar las posibles causas de error de la fase preanalítica, para fortalecer los procesos de gestión y las buenas prácticas del laboratorio. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo transversal en Laboratorio Bioanálisis Clínico de la ciudad de Cali, para lo cual se llevó a cabo una revisión de los casos de error ocurridos entre enero de 2020 y diciembre de 2022, con el fin de identificar los errores más frecuentes ocurridos durante ese lapso de tiempo, además de un sondeo a auxiliares de laboratorio clínico, para determinar si las causas de los errores son de índole personal o están relacionadas con el clima laboral. La identificación errada de las muestras y pacientes, muestras hemolizadas y error al ingreso de datos de pacientes al sistema, fueron los errores más frecuentes detectados en la fase preanalítica. Según el sondeo realizado a auxiliares de laboratorio, la carga laboral y el clima laboral, fueron las principales posibles causas de que se cometan errores en el proceso. Los errores en la fase preanalítica tienen un alto impacto en la seguridad del paciente, afectando el diagnóstico, tratamiento y la credibilidad de los laboratorios clínicos. Por lo tanto, es importante identificar las causas y consecuencias de los errores y establecer procesos de seguimiento y evaluación permanentes, para garantizar la calidad del servicio.
dc.description.abstractengQuality in clinical laboratories is crucial from the test request to the delivery of the results. The errors that occur in the process constitute the main problem of this research, whose objective is to identify the possible error causes of the preanalytical phase in order to strengthen management processes and good laboratory practices. A cross-sectional quantitative study was carried out in Laboratorio Bioanálisis Clínico located in Cali, for which a review of the error cases occurred between January 2020 and December 2022, for the purpose of identifying the most frequent errors occurred during that period of time, besides a survey to clinical laboratory assistants, to determine whether the causes of the errors are because of personal nature or related to the work environment. Misidentification of samples and patients, hemolyzed samples and errors in entering patient data into the system were the most frequent errors detected in the preanalytical phase. According to the survey carried out among laboratory assistants, the workload and the work environment were the main possible causes of errors in the process. Errors in the preanalytical phase have a high impact on the patient safety, affecting the diagnosis, treatment and credibility of clinical laboratories. Therefore, it is important to identify the causes and consequences of the errors and to establish permanent process of monitoring and evaluation to guarantee the quality of the service.
