dc.description.abstractEl proyecto aborda la rehabilitación integral de la Planta de Tratamiento de Agua Potable (PTAP) Versalles, ubicada en el Valle del Cauca, la cual quedó en desuso tras la Implementación de una nueva planta con capacidad insuficiente para abastecer a la población. Mediante evaluaciones estructurales e hidráulicas, se identificaron deficiencias críticas en componentes como el tanque de almacenamiento, prefiltros y sistemas de tratamiento, los cuales requieren intervenciones mejoras estructurales en sus componentes para cumplir con los procesos de captación, tratamiento y distribución. La propuesta incluye un diagnóstico del estado actual de la infraestructura y un diseño que incorpora estándares según la norma, incrementando la capacidad de procesamiento y garantizando la potabilidad del agua. Este proyecto busca no solo solucionar el desabastecimiento de agua en Versalles, mejorando la calidad de vida de sus habitantes, sino también establecer un modelo replicable para la recuperación de infraestructuras públicas en comunidades con problemáticas similares. Los beneficios incluyen una cobertura ampliada de agua potable, reducción de costos operativos y el fortalecimiento de la salud pública mediante la provisión de agua segura, contribuyendo significativamente al desarrollo regional y a la sostenibilidad ambiental
dc.description.abstractengThe project addresses the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Versalles Potable Water Treatment Plant (PTAP), located in Valle del Cauca, which fell into disuse after the implementation of a new plant with insufficient capacity to supply the population. Through structural and hydraulic assessments, critical deficiencies were identified in components such as the storage tank, pre-filters and treatment systems, which require structural improvements in their components to comply with the capture, treatment and distribution processes. The proposal includes a diagnosis of the current state of the infrastructure and a design that incorporates standards according to the norm, increasing the processing capacity and guaranteeing the potability of the water. This project seeks not only to solve the water shortage in Versalles, improving the quality of life of its inhabitants, but also to establish a replicable model for the recovery of public infrastructure in communities with similar problems. The benefits include expanded coverage of drinking water, reduction of operating costs and the strengthening of public health through the provision of safe water, contributing significantly to regional development and environmental sustainability.
