dc.description.abstractEl texto aborda la afrocolombianidad como una expresión de la herencia africana en Colombia, la cual se entrelaza con la lucha por la igualdad y la justicia, destacando su importancia en la construcción de una sociedad inclusiva. El proyecto se centra en el cabello afro como símbolo de identidad, resistencia y orgullo étnico, explorando su relevancia histórica, cultural y social en la comunidad afrodescendiente de Cali. A través de fuentes documentales y testimonios de mujeres negras, se analiza cómo el cabello trasciende lo estético, conectándose con la ancestralidad y resignificando la identidad afro frente a una mirada hegemónica blanco-mestiza. También se reflexiona sobre prácticas tradicionales vinculadas al cabello, que en el pasado servían como símbolos de pertenencia o herramientas de resistencia, y cómo hoy enfrentan estereotipos derivados de la opresión histórica. dc.description.abstractengThe text addresses Afro-Colombianism as an expression of African heritage in Colombia, which is intertwined with the fight for equality and justice, highlighting its importance in building an inclusive society. The project focuses on Afro hair as a symbol of identity, resistance and ethnic pride, exploring its historical, cultural and social relevance in the Afro-descendant community of Cali. Through documentary sources and testimonies of black women, it analyzes how hair transcends aesthetics, connecting with ancestry and redefining Afro identity in the face of a hegemonic white-mestizo view. It also reflects on traditional practices linked to hair, which in the past served as symbols of belonging or tools of resistance, and how today they face stereotypes derived from historical oppression. The document includes a personal justification, an analysis of Afro-Colombianism and visual proposals that highlight the cultural and ethnic value of Afro hair.
