dc.description.abstract	El proyecto consiste en la revitalización del antiguo Molino Roncallo, un edificio patrimonial de carácter industrial ubicado en el norte de Cali, con el objetivo de transformarlo en un centro cultural y comunitario que articule memoria, cultura y espacio público. Desde una postura arquitectónica y urbana, la propuesta parte del reconocimiento del deterioro físico y la desconexión social del molino, pero también de su alto valor simbólico e histórico para el barrio y la ciudad. El proyecto entiende el patrimonio no como un objeto estático, sino como un soporte activo capaz de adaptarse a nuevos usos contemporáneos sin perder su identidad. La intervención busca: • Conservar y resaltar la arquitectura patrimonial del molino, especialmente sus fachadas y volumetría industrial. • Introducir nuevos programas culturales flexibles, como espacios expositivos, talleres, aulas, áreas de creación colectiva y una plaza interior para actividades comunitarias. • Reintegrar el edificio al tejido urbano, fortaleciendo su relación con el barrio y con proyectos de escala ciudad como el Corredor Verde, entendiendo la antigua línea férrea como una frontera urbana que puede transformarse en conector social. • Activar el espacio público inmediato mediante estrategias paisajísticas, sombra, accesibilidad peatonal y permanencia, promoviendo la apropiación ciudadana. En síntesis, el proyecto propone que el Molino Roncallo deje de ser una ruina aislada para convertirse en un nodo cultural híbrido, donde la arquitectura funciona como puente entre pasado y presente, reforzando la identidad barrial, la participación comunitaria y el acceso a la cultura en un sector históricamente marginado de este tipo de equipamientos.	spa
dc.description.abstract	The project consists of the revitalization of the former Molino Roncallo, a heritage industrial building located in northern Cali, with the aim of transforming it into a cultural and community center that brings together memory, culture, and public space. From an architectural and urban perspective, the proposal begins by recognizing the physical deterioration and social disconnection of the mill, while also acknowledging its high symbolic and historical value for the neighborhood and the city. The project understands heritage not as a static object, but as an active framework capable of adapting to new contemporary uses without losing its identity. The intervention seeks to: • Preserve and highlight the mill’s heritage architecture, particularly its façades and industrial volumetry. • Introduce new flexible cultural programs, including exhibition spaces, workshops, classrooms, collective creation areas, and an interior plaza for community activities. • Reintegrate the building into the urban fabric, strengthening its relationship with the neighborhood and with city-scale projects such as the Green Corridor, while understanding the former railway line as an urban boundary that can be transformed into a social connector. • Activate the surrounding public space through landscape strategies, shade, pedestrian accessibility, and areas for gathering and permanence, encouraging community appropriation. In summary, the project proposes transforming Molino Roncallo from an isolated ruin into a hybrid cultural hub, where architecture acts as a bridge between past and present, strengthening neighborhood identity, community participation, and access to culture in an area historically underserved by this type of cultural infrastructure.	eng
